Your journey into the heart of the animal world starts here.
Getting Here
We are right alongside the rail trail between Unity Road East and Haldibrook road. Many people spend the day riding the trail and jump off to visit the zoo before continuing on. There are many areas to lock a bicycle and park your off terrain vehicles. Bring a packed lunch and enjoy one of our many picnic areas!
The Haldimand Chippewa trail connects the Hamilton Chippewa trail at Haldibrook Road and runs 2.7 kilometres south along the old Georgia Pacific rail line to Haldimand Road 66 near Caledonia then it will take you off road along the Grand River to the hamlet of York.
Every visit is a new adventure into the animal kingdom.
Please Note:
This is the zoos direct line to the office, there is not always someone to answer the phone right away as we could be busy on the grounds tending to the animals and patrons. Please leave us a message and we will try to get back to you as soon as we can as the machine and messages are checked several times daily. Please email all major inquiries and questions. Thanks so much!

It’s mostly big cats and some other exotic animals like wolves, lemurs, monkeys, raptors and parrots. There is a petting zoo section with highland cows, emus, deer, goats and sheep you can feed out of your hands. The enclosures are not very big, but the animals did seem generally healthy and well cared for. I give it a solid 7/10, perfect for families with small children or for those looking for a fun little day trip.Posted on Google Jess Galvez-IslaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff were welcoming and approachable, and there was no wait time during our Wednesday afternoon visit. We enjoyed a unique, close-up view of the animals, including the monkeys being fed a variety of fresh fruits. While the proximity and natural vocalizations of the lions and coyotes were quite intense, purchasing peanuts (from the entrance) to feed the allowable animals added to a memorable experience!Posted on Google Larry LeretteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. it's my peaceful placePosted on Google Jack FletcherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic Zoo really good for the money you pay. The staff are friendly and helpful we had a chat with one about some of the cats. The animals looked happy and healthy would recommend this place any day of the week.Posted on Google AddisonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. went today with my boyfriend and it was one of the best zoo experiences I’ve ever had there were so many big cats and really cool animals. I love the part where we got to feed the baby goat the peanuts it was amazing. honestly, for the price point for tickets and entry I’d choose that zoo over the Toronto zoo any day. every single enclosure had animals in it there was no enclosures that were under renovation and didn’t have any animals. The zookeepers and staff there are also extremely friendly and willing to answer questions if they are asked.Posted on Google Joe RamirezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
